Scotts Run Nature Preserve

Scotts Run Nature Preserve covers about 375 acres of area along the Potomac River, just northwest of Washington DC in Virginia. There are many nature\hiking trails that wind through the forest along Scotts Run to the point where it empties into the Potomac. Some of the hikes are more difficult than others. Especially the trail to the waterfall and the bluffs overlooking the river. There are many stream crossings which should not be attempted during high water. The preserve is a great place for bird watching, tree identification, and other nature activities. There are no facilities at the preserve.
