About Me
As you probably already know, my name is David Podgor. I'm 27, and I
have lived in Montgomery
County, Maryland, a suburb of Washington D.C. my entire life.
I am currently working at the Fugro EarthData, Inc. as a Geographic Information Systems Intern. I graduated from Montgomery
College in May 2008 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Geography/Geographic Education/Geographic Information Systems. I am a member of Gamma
Theta Upsilon-International Geographic Honor Society and Association of American Geographers.
Outside of work I have many activities that occupy my time. I love
to travel, even if it is just a day trip around the Washington D.C.
area. I enjoy taking pictures of landscapes, skylines, and such.
I have been to many big cities east of the Mississippi River, as
far south as Orlando, Florida and as far north as Toronto, Ontario.
I've been to the midwest once, when I visited my sister in Chicago
in March of 2003. It is a shame that I have only been to California
once. When I was 7, I went to San Francisco, but I look
forward to visiting there many times in the future. My best experience
traveling was my senior high school class trip to Israel in Spring
2000. I saw most of what Israel has to offer, and for the week of
Passover I went on a group excursion to the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt.
It was amazing! You can see the pictures of my Israel trip by clicking
on the link in the table of contents. I went to Iceland in February
2004, which was an amazing trip. You can see videos and pictures
of my trip to Iceland by clicking on the geography/travel link in
the table of contents.
Other activities I enjoy are biking, hiking, camping, weather watching, playing
computer games, listening to a wide range of music, watching movies,
reading about technologies, sciences, and geography, and following
sports, especially the Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles, although
I am also going to root for the Washington Nationals. I also like
to make videos using my digital video camera, of just random stuff
I do and see.
